A comprehensive financial plan will typically be 8-40 hours, or $2,800 - $14,000. The range is wide because every client is different. During our initial complimentary conversation, you will receive a firm quote on the cost of your planning services prior to engaging with us.
Yes, many clients choose to come back and consult with us periodically as their financial situation evolves. These engagements are charged our hourly rate of $350 in 15 minute increments. We bill monthly in arrears.
Have a 15 minute phone call to answer some questions and get some quick advice? We will bill for 15 minutes. Want to update your financial plan to account for your promotion, pending business sale, or growing family? We will bill the actual time for the meetings and planning work.
Typically, it is worthwhile to update the financial plan itself every one or two years. These plan updates usually take less time than the initial engagement because we already know your situation.
We are also fine with clients working with us for a one-time plan and then sailing off into the sunset.
Clients who have engaged with us on any level will receive my client-only newsletter which details topics that may be of interest to you, my latest thoughts on markets, financial planning, and tax planning.
We will also track major events such as tax law changes federally or in Washington state that may impact your financial plan and reach out to you if we think there are material events that would be worth looking into.
It is always your choice to engage with us.
Absolutely not. Many investors are comfortable managing their own investments and would like financial planning and tax planning advice without turning over their portfolios to be managed. That is where we come in.
If you are looking for an Advisor to professionally manage your portfolio on a discretionary basis that is not us. We are happy to refer you to other high-quality professionals who specialize in this service.
Yes, we are fully set up to offer virtual meetings.
Clients local to our area are also welcome to meet in person at our Bellevue, WA office.
We are registered in Washington State and our offices are located in Bellevue, WA.
We can also work with clients virtually in most states. Please inquire about your state when setting up your complimentary initial meeting.
In our initial complimentary meeting, we will discuss the scope of the issues you are trying to solve and suggest the best path forward.
Most of our clients start with a comprehensive financial plan, and this is where we believe we provide maximum value. However, we can also do a limited project engagement, or even ‘start the clock’ and help with certain limited areas.
In all cases we will need certain financial information from you in order to have a complete understanding of your situation before rendering advice.
Yes.
While we do not custody and manage portfolios on a discretionary basis, we do give specific investment advice in our comprehensive financial plans.
Most of our clients choose to implement the recommendations themselves. We will give you specific instructions and make this as easy as possible before sending you on your way.
If you would like help with implementing (setting up accounts, making trades, scheduling appointments, purchasing investment or insurance products, etc.) we are happy to help with our time spent billed at our hourly rate.
We do not have any financial incentives to recommend certain investment or insurance products.
