What It Costs

We are exclusively an hourly financial planning firm. You drive when, how often, and for how long you engage with us. The hourly rate is $350.

In our initial meeting we determine the scope of your needs and give you a firm quote based on the expected number of hours. Half is due when we begin, and the balance when the final recommendations are delivered to you. If we use less hours than expected, your cost will be adjusted downward.

Here are some examples of what to expect:

Tier 1

Relatively straightforward planning needs. Perhaps you are just starting out and need a solid road map to your goals. For example, a couple in their 30s, W2 incomes, contributing to 401(k)s, own or want to own a home, etc.

8-14 hours. ($2,800 - $4,900)

Tier 2

More complex financial planning needs. Equity compensation, spouse with non W2 income, multiple investment accounts/products, needs more complex tax planning (Roth conversions, charitable giving, etc.)

12-20 hours ($4,200 - $7,000)

Tier 3

Most complex or large number of planning needs. High levels of illiquid net worth, business owners, real estate portfolios, significant changes, complex tax situations, interested in private markets, etc.

20+ hours. ($7,000+)

Plan implementation help, follow-up planning for our existing clients, and ad hoc financial planning is available at our hourly rate.

Once you have been though our initial financial planning process, follow-up planning engagements are typically much shorter. Have a 15 minute phone call to answer some questions and get some quick advice? We will bill for 15 minutes. Want to update your financial plan to account for your promotion, pending business sale, or growing family? We will bill the actual time for the meetings and planning work.
